Fashion & Textiles Guild committee conducted a guild activity by Ms. Raj Dholiwal on 11th January, 2020. Tie and Dye is one of the oldest indigo dying techniques in Japan and India. It is a technique for a variety of ways of embellishing textiles by shaping cloth and securing it before dying.

An activity was focus on learning how to prepare your fabric and you can gain knowledge of the different tying technique. The resource person started with an introduction and demonstrated the process of tie and dye or Bandhej. In tie and dye cloth is bound, resisted, wrapped and gathered by hand and this step is repeated for each colour dye, then it is dipped in dye bath.  The students have explored many traditional techniques of tie & dye. It was a great exposure to the students because they learnt various techniques which boost up their creativity. Students can create their own products in innovative style through this workshop. Twenty students participated in the workshop.
