National Sports Day: Parasports Meet

Para-Sports Meet at the IIS University

A statutory body looking into the affairs of no discrimination to be made in the opportunities provided at the work places, Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC), IIS (deemed to be University) organized its Para-Sports Meet on 29 August 2018, celebrated as National Sports Day on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, three times Olympic Gold Medalist, renowned as the Hockey conjurer of India. EOC joined in with the institutions toiling day and night to encourage and cheer the specially-abled participants of Disha, Umang, Milestone, Prayaas and Shri Nirmal Vivek School. Our esteemed Registrar, Dr. Raakhi Gupta formally declared the meet open, thereby paying homage to Major Dhayan Chand. The event commenced with an enthusiastic hockey match amongst the students of the university, which showcased their affinity, dedication and regards for the game. Their excellent participation left the gathering spell bound. The dynamic  participants, about 125 in number showcased their sparkling skills in the series of Paralympic Games - Hockey, Soft Ball Throw, Straw Pick race, Book Balancing, Pyramid Race, Colour Match Race, Face paint, Pair ball race, Balloon race  and Lollipop Race. Prof Nisha Yadav , Controller of Examinations & Prof. K.S. Sharma, Advisor, The IIS University, boosted their morale and congratulated them on a fervent participation by presenting gold medals to the participants in various events and mementos to the teachers from various schools. The event was a phenomenal success and all the students enjoyed and participated with zeal. The students were delighted to contribute in some way to the social cause and were then served refreshments.
