Centre for Research, Innovation and Training (CRIT)

Research, Innovation, and Training are an integral part of the development of an institution of higher education. The quality of research and development being pursued and promoted at such institutions is indicative of their commitment to quality and of ensuring significant research outcomes. For this purpose, the University has established the Centre for Research, Innovation and Training (CRIT) with the aim of giving impetus to research through workshops, seminars, and conferences that train and encourage students as well as faculty members to take up research-based activities. The Centre endeavours to promote research-based initiatives by organizing periodic training programmes, workshops, and courses in new and emerging research areas. In sum, CRIT attempts to identify and tap inter- and multi disciplinary research prospects for fostering a robust learning and research environment on campus

About the Conference

The introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in July 2017 marked a landmark reform in India's fiscal architecture, replacing multiple indirect taxes with a unified, transparent, and technology-driven taxation system. Conceptualized as a “One Nation, One Tax” model, GST aimed to streamline compliance, reduce cascading effects, enhance competitiveness, and strengthen the formal economy through digital integration.

As India transitions towards the next phase—informally termed “GST 2.0”—the discourse has shifted toward creating a more inclusive, technology-enabled, and citizen-centric tax ecosystem. Debates surrounding Centre–State coordination, inverted duty structures, MSME compliance barriers, and consumer welfare have gained renewed significance.

Against this backdrop, the proposed National Conference seeks to provide an academic and policy-oriented platform for discussing the socio-economic implications of GST reforms and their alignment with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. By bringing together scholars, policymakers, tax administrators, industry professionals, and MSME representatives, the conference aims to promote informed dialogue, strengthen research–practice linkages, and foster collective understanding of GST's role in India's economic transformation.
