About NSS
NSS is a scheme of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports which is aims at the personality development
of students. The
National Service Scheme was launched in 1969 to give a new dimension to the higher education system and
to guide
students towards community service while they are still studying in an educational institute. NSS is a
reflection of
Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals which inspire the youth to participate in social upliftment and in tasks of
national
development. The scheme extends to all states & Universities in the country. “NOT ME BUT YOU “ is the
motto of NSS.
NSS aims at arousing social consciousness of the youth with an overall objective of personality
development of the
students through community service.

Literacy Work in Government School
The NSS units of IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur, conducted a literacy work activity in government schools at Hajiwala, Dadabari, and Sumer Nagar on 6 April 2026. NSS volunteers engaged students through basic teaching, reading, and interactive learning activities. The initiative supported academic development of school children and strengthened volunteers’ commitment to community service and social responsibility.
