Coursera At IISU

We are pleased to inform you all that our University is now registered for Coursera for Campus program. As per this registration, Coursera has offered us 5000 licenses using which the faculty and students can pursue any number of courses for free from a pool of 3800+ courses.

Coursera (/kərˈsɛrə/) is a world-wide online learning platform founded in 2012 by Stanford professors "Andrew Ng" and "Daphne Koller" that offers massive open online courses (MOOC), specializations, and degrees. It works with universities and other organizations to offer online courses, specializations, and degrees in a variety of subjects, such as engineering, data science, machine learning, mathematics, business, computer science, digital marketing, humanities, medicine, biology, social sciences, and others.

Integration of ST courses in IISU curriculum under the credit transfer scheme

Spoken Tutorial courses are integrated in the IISU curriculum under credit transfer scheme by the University. The mapping percentage is calculated and each course is either mapped in IISU Continuous Assessment or Semester-end Assessment.

Online National Faculty Development Programme (Self paced)

on Drupal, R Programming and Python

12 August to 1 September, 2022

Organized by IIS (Deemed to be University)

In association with Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay

IIS (Deemed to be University) in association with Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay organized an Online National Faculty Development Programme (Self Paced) on Drupal, R Programming and Python from 12 August to 1 September, 2022. The programmes were conducted under the National Mission on Education through ICT funded by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. Participants received self-paced learning instructions, video tutorials, and assignments.

Each faculty coordinator provided the suggested time schedule to ensure timely completion. Participants watched video tutorials and completed assignments as part of the training.

Drupal FDP (12–18 August 2022)

26 participants took part in the 7-day programme, including one international participant. The training covered both basic and advanced concepts of Drupal, a powerful content management system used for developing websites and applications.

R Programming FDP (19–25 August 2022)

The second 7-day programme trained 35 participants, again including an international participation. The course introduced basic and advanced concepts of R Programming.

Python FDP (26 August–1 September 2022)

The third 7-day programme had 29 participants with international presence. The FDP focused on building strong foundational and practical skills in Python programming.

Evaluation & Outcome

All participants were evaluated through assignments and quizzes created by the faculty coordinators. The FDP concluded with a final quiz related to the tutorial content. Participants also learned how to effectively use the Spoken Tutorial platform for self-learning. Overall, the FDP provided faculty members an opportunity to explore and learn emerging technologies through a highly structured and accessible platform.
