IIS (Deemed to be University) is a partner university in the Tuning India and RISHII Projects co-funded by Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union (EuRopean Community Action Scheme for Mobility of University Students) programme which is a student exchange programme established in 1987 in the name of Desiderius Erasmus (1469-1536) of Rotterdam, one of Europe’s greatest thinkers and most influential scholars who defined the Humanistic Movement in Northern Europe. The programme involves 28 European Union partner countries and 24 non-EU participating countries, India being one of them.

IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur, is one of the partner Universities in the Erasmus+ funded “Tuning India Project”. The duration of the project was three years starting from 2017 and finishing in 2020, which was extended till October 2021 due to the pandemic. The Project Consortium consists of the following 15 Indian Universities and 5 European Universities.

The project aims to contribute to and support the internationalization process in India through building a framework of comparable, compatible and transparent degree programmes.
Specific Objectives
- To apply the Tuning methodology in Indian universities in four subject areas – Law, ICT, Medicine and Teacher Education.
- To develop Tuning Meta-Profiles in four subject areas.
- To develop, implement, monitor and improve degree programmes.
- To promote sub-regional and international cooperation between India and EU universities.
The University would receive funding of € 18,743 for this project.
IIS (Deemed to be University) is represented in the Project by Dr. Raakhi Gupta as the coordinator and Dr. Sanjay Kedia, Dr. Archana Jain in the Education subject area. The IIS University also hosted the third general meeting of the project in Jaipur.
The dissemination activities are being organized further to equip the faculty members with the learnings of the project.

Tuning Rishii Project
The Project Consortium consists of 14 Indian Universities like University of Calcutta, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Savitribai Phule Pune University, GD Goenka University, Vinoba Bhave University and others and 5 partners from European Union like Universidad de Deusto (Spain), University of Groningen (Netherlands), University of Porto (Portugal), University of Pisa (Pisa) and Dresden University of Technology, Dresden.
The duration of the project is three years from 2020-2023.
RISHII (Resources for Internationalization of Higher Education Institutions in India) aims at contributing to modernization of Indian Higher Education through equipping Indian Higher Education Institutions with procedures, tools, human resources and continuous professional development mechanisms necessary for Curriculum Internationalization and creating institution-wide thriving cultures of Internationalization-for-all. The objectives of the project include:
1. Create mechanisms, procedures and tools which can engage all Indian RISHII Partner Institutions in Strategic Planning for Modernization through continuous Curriculum Internationalisation
2. Promote Curriculum Internationalisation through adoption of competence-based student-centred principles in (a) curriculum and syllabus design, (b) teaching, learning and assessment approaches.
3. Equip Indian faculty and non-academic staff involved in internationalisation with skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to achieve Internationalisation-FOR-ALL
4. Create Open Education Resources that will encourage and make it feasible for all Indian Higher Education Institutions to engage in Strategic Planning and Continuous Professional Development activities for Curriculum Internationalization -FOR-ALL

Nine faculty members of the IIS University have been awarded Level1-SL1 badge on successfully completing the Level 1 Curriculum Internationalisation training on Strategic Line 1 -Internationalisation of Curriculum - why and what for? This training seminar was organised by University of Deusto as coordinator of “Resources for Internationalisation of Higher Education Institutions in (RISHII project ) India”.
