Prof. T.N. Mathur serves as the Vice-Chancellor of IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur. A distinguished academic and administrator, he brings with him more than four decades of teaching, research, and leadership experience from the University of Rajasthan.

His academic interests lie primarily in Banking and Finance. Over the course of his career, he has supervised 47 doctoral students, authored numerous research papers in reputed journals, and written 14 books, many of which are key reference texts for postgraduate students.

Academic Governance & Leadership

Prof. Mathur has held several important academic and administrative positions including Dean, Faculty of Commerce, Member of the Academic Council, Convener, Board of Studies, and Course Coordinator for various Orientation and Refresher Programmes. He has also served as a Member of the Syndicate, Senate, and other statutory bodies of the University of Rajasthan.

In his role as Vice-Chancellor at IISU, he continues to focus on strengthening academic rigour, research orientation, and quality enhancement across programmes and departments.

Dr. T.N. Mathur retired in 2016 as Professor of Economic Administration and Financial Management , Faculty of Commerce, the University of Rajasthan after serving for four decades in the academic arena. An exemplary academician, Dr. Mathur’s major area of interest has been in Banking and Finance. He has supervised 47 doctoral students, has various publications to his credit in well-known journals, and has authored 14 books which are sought after as reliable resources for students at the master's level.

During his long years of service, Dr. Mathur has also held different academic and administrative positions as Dean, Faculty of Commerce; Member, Academic Council; Convener, Board of Studies and Course Coordinator for various Orientation and Refresher Programmes. Besides this, he has also served as Member of the Syndicate, Senate and other bodies of the University of Rajasthan.

During his life-long association with the University of Rajasthan, he has participated in various developmental activities and remained actively involved in peer team visits of Colleges and Universities in the country as a Member and Chairman of the NAAC Peer Team and Member in UGC teams. His contribution has been invaluable in the preparation of status reports related to UGC, NAAC and other funding agencies.
