VISIT TO LOTUS DAIRY PLANT

A visit was organized by YI Yuva, Jaipur Chapter, for its members of YI IIS University Yuva Chaupal on 13^th October 2014 to Lotus Dairy Plant, Bassi.

Lotus Dairy was established with a great vision to provide quality dairy products and generate employment. It has a network of centers in more than 1500 villages in Rajasthan.

Students received a very warm welcome at the plant. To begin with, they were introduced to the management team by the Director, Mr. Rohit Verma- Mr. J. K. Khanna (Project Advisor) Naveen Jain (Marketing Manager), M.K. Mathur (Manager- Q.A.), C.P. Mittal (Advisor), M.K. Agarwal (Dy. General Manager). This was followed by a Power Point presentation on the Dairy Industry in general and about Lotus Dairy in particular. The presentation included various stages of processing of milk at Lotus dairy and highlighted related facts. The students were then divided in two groups and taken around the various departments of the plant. The students were impressed by the cleanliness and the quality check at each stage of processing. Afterwards, there was an interactive session wherein the managing team answered all queries put up by the students. Various myths relating to milk and its products were also cleared. In the end, the students were served refreshment which gave them a taste of Lotus Dairy products.

The visit was a great learning experience for all the members of YI IIS Yuva Chaupal. It imparted and enhanced their knowledge regarding the functioning of a dairy and its products.
